Greetings from George Diehr

Welcome to my web site. Thank you for taking the time to learn more about my experience and positions on issues as you consider voting for me for the CalPERS board. It is very important that you vote. The CalPERS board makes many decisions and establishes many policies of direct impact on your retirement and health benefits.

You will receive a ballot at your home address a few days after September 3, 2010. Please open it, vote promptly, sign the ballot envelope and return the ballot by mail. Of course, I hope that your choice will be to vote for me.

As your elected representative, I am proud to keep working to make life better for CalPERS members:
  • Fight healthcare cost increases
  • Improve quality and access to healthcare
  • Protect our defined benefit pensions
  • Oppose efforts to reduce our healthcare and retirement benefits
  • Invest our fund to meet or exceed target rates of return while carefully managing risk
  • Protect public sector jobs
  • Fight corporate and executive greed
  • Help members obtain benefits
  • Ensure integrity of CalPERS Board members and staff
My job is to ensure all CalPERS members and their families have the best benefits available, and our investments grow to protect our health and retirement security. During my next term, I will continue working to protect health benefits, constrain cost increases, and improve services.

CalPERS Responsibilities
  • Vice President, Board of Administration
  • Chair, Investment Committee
  • Board member, National Coalition on Health Care
